What is a BTU?

A BTU is a unit of energy, or the amount of heat required to raise a pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. Freedom Fuel Pellets have a higher output than cordwood or woodchips and therefore they produce far more heat. Freedom Fuel produces approximately 8,400 BTU’s per pound.
