Our Pellet Analysis:
After in depth laboratory testing, the Pellet Fuel Institute found that Freedom
Fuel consists of a premium pine pellet. According to the non-profit association,
pellet mills produce either premium or standard fuel.
Freedom Fuel is considered a premium fuel because it has less than 1% ash, .35%,
and a very low moisture level. The ash and the moisture content must be low in
order to prevent "clinkers." Clinkers, or lava-like pieces of rock, are the
moisture and ash that melds together and hardens at the bottom of the pellet
stove. These clinkers can ruin your stove or even cause dangerous fires.
It is important to use a consistent, premium pellet like Freedom Fuel in your
